AHOSKIE, N.C.—Complaints of alleged drug sales has netted the arrest of an Ahoskie man on the charge of marijuana possession.
Chauncey Antwon Weaver, 28, was arrested at his residence Thursday. There, after serving a search warrant, APD Detective Sgt. Stephen White found and seized approximately 23 grams of marijuana, digital scales and numerous other items of drug paraphernalia.
Weaver was charged with felony possession of marijuana with intent to sell and deliver, felony maintaining a dwelling to store a controlled substance and misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia.
After being processed at the Ahoskie Police Department, Weaver was transported to Winton where a magistrate set his cash bond at $76,500.
Weaver made his first court appearance on Friday.
Ahoskie Police Chief Troy Fitzhugh said the complaints led to a follow-up investigation, one which resulted in the search warrant.
“I would like to thank Det. Sgt. White for his continued efforts to arrest those who continue to allegedly sell drugs in our community,” Fitzhugh said. “I would also like to thank the Hertford and Bertie County Sheriff’s offices for their assistance in the execution of this search warrant.”
