James. E. Presson

Carrsville – James Emerson “Jimmie” Presson, 77, died May 29th, 2010 at Sentara Obici Hospital. Jimmie was born in Isle of Wight County, the son of the late Stella Cobb and Emerson Thomas Presson and was predeceased by a sister, Helen Ellis. He was a member of Colosse Baptist Church and the Adult Bible Class. He was a former member of the Walters Ruritan Club where at one time he served as President. He was an honorary member of the Walters Hunt Club and enjoyed fishing. Jimmie served 4 years in the Navy during the Korean Campaign and was retired from Union Camp Corporation after 35 years of faithful service.

Survivors include his loving wife of 51 years, Betty Carr Presson; one daughter

Tonya Lafleche & husband, Tim of Chesapeake; three sons, Blake Presson & wife,

Ginger of Carrsville, Kevin Presson & wife, Cassandra of Windsor, Jeff Presson & wife, Michelle of Carrsville; six grandchildren, Brittany Presson, Kristen Lafleche, Amber Presson, Kassidy Lafleche, Thomas Presson and Jayton Presson; one sister,

Mary Ellen Joyner & husband Luke of Kennewick, WA; and several nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be conducted at 2 pm Tuesday at the Colosse Cemetery with the Rev. Tim Webb officiating. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 pm Monday at the Wright Funeral Home, Franklin, and suggest that memorial donations may be made to Colossee Baptist Church Perpetual Care Fund, 6361 Rhodes Drive, Windsor, Va. 23487. www.wrightfuneralhome.org
