The team of Jay Lee, Lance Simms, Chris Slate and Zach Smith won the 18th annual ChamberGolf Tournament held recently at Cypress Country Club.

They posted a score of 59.

A perpetual plaque is engraved with each year’s low gross winners for the Franklin-Southampton Area Chamber of Commerce event. The plaque is in memory of Joe Dail and his love for the chamber. Dail was tournament chairman for many years and his dedication and inspiration made ChamberGolf a great event.

Brian Hedgepeth, Sammy Belcher, Bob Petty and Robbie Purvis took first in the second flight. Third flight winners were Dan Hoctor, Greg Cook, Ed Patnesky and Mike Patnesky.

Eighteen teams participated. Players, sponsors and volunteers started the day with a hot dog lunch provided by Walmart and prepared by grillmasters Randolph Cook and Vernie Francis.

Chamber President Hoctor welcomed participants as Club Pro Danny Morgan offered the tournament rules.

“It takes many people working together to present this tournament” said Chamber Executive Director Teresa Beale. “Year after year our generous sponsors and volunteers make this event a success.”

The 2010 committee members were Cook, Francis and Purvis.

Prime Media Productions captured the swing of each participant at the No. 1 tee. This video provided great entertainment during the awards dinner.
