FRANKLIN—A missionary from Nigeria has spent the last two weeks in the Tidewater region preaching and talking about African and Nigerian cultures.

Joined by his wife, Precious, Bishop Friday Nnah spent time with Pastor Charles Worth at True Word Christian Church east of Franklin and has been a speaker at a number of Christian schools including in Norfolk, Chesapeake and Virginia Beach.

Affiliated with Jon Cash Ministries, Nnah said through his 27 years of ministry the group has built several churches in West Africa.

Nnah said through missionary work in Nigeria, more than 3,000 people have received free medical aid, and 1,137 people have found salvation. He said he loves visiting schools to spread the love of God and hear the children ask questions about Nigerian culture.

Nnah said he is often asked to show the scars he has on his stomach from being stabbed twice while preaching.

The Nnahs will return to Nigeria on Monday, May 31.

While, the bishop has no plans to return to the United States, he will go wherever Jon Cash Ministries sends him to spread Christianity and the love of Jesus Christ.
