To the Editor:

On April 8, 15, 22 and 29, Franklin City Council members Mary Hilliard (Ward 5), Rosa Lawrence (Ward 3) and Vice Mayor Raystine D. Johnson (Ward 4) made themselves available to the citizens of Franklin for three hours each night to accept questions and listen to their concerns at the Martin Luther King Jr. Community Center.

One hour of this time was allocated for department heads to be present to address the concerns of citizens.

This was a great idea, and the wealth of information was extremely beneficial. However, with us as citizens of constant complaints, we did not take advantage of this great opportunity.

Thank you, council members and department heads Michael Stoneham, director of power and light; June Fleming, city manager; Amber Stansbury, interim finance director; Chief Phil Hardison, police department; and Russ Pace, director of public works, for an outstanding job.
