Parks department offers 25 free tickets to Generals games

FRANKLIN—The city Department of Parks and Recreation is offering 25 free tickets to Franklin residents for any of the Petersburg Generals baseball team’s home games at Petersburg Sport Complex.

The Generals’ season opener is 7 p.m. Wednesday, May 26. Throwing out the first pitch of the game will be directors of parks and recreation in the region, including Frank Davis with the Franklin Department of Parks and Recreation.
The season opener is titled, “American Cancer Society and Tri-Cities Little League Night.” The Generals, who consist of top-notch Division 1 and Division 2 collegiate baseball players, will be playing the Peninsula Pilots of Hampton in a Coastal Plain League game.
Boys and girls wearing their team’s jersey will be admitted free on opening night and Tuesday games in June and July. They also will warm up with the Generals.
The Generals will offer two series of baseball clinics for children ages 6 and up in June and July at the Petersburg Sport Complex.
