Mary B. Wise

Carrsville – Mary Brooks Wise, 77, died May 16, 2010 at her residence. She was born in Ransomville, NC, one of nine children of the late Sarah Farrow Brooks and Eugene Brooks. Mrs. Wise was a retired school bus driver for Isle of Wight County for thirty three years and was a member of the Kingdom Life Ministries.

Left to cherish her memory are her husband of sixty years, Marvin Ray Wise, Sr.; four children, Marvin Wise (Geri), Larry Wise (Denise), Carolyn Cook (Troy), and Chris Wise (Crystal); eleven grandchildren, Jennifer Whitehurst, Natalie Seal, Nancy Kidd, Jason Wise, Kelly Young, Amanda Ritter, Larry Wise, Sarah Pittman, Shelby Thorpe, C. J. Wise, and Carmen Wise; seventeen great-grandchildren, Madison, Connor, Braeden, and Sophia Whitehurst, Cameron and Peyton Seal, Caleb and Gracie Kidd, Isaac Wise, River and Lane Young, Garrett Seal, Gannon Ritter, Carter (deceased) and Jackson Wise, and Trevor and Brayden Pittman. Mrs. Wise was most proud of her grandchildren and proud of her maternal grandfather, Abraham Farrow, who was a lighthouse keeper at Cape Hatteras.

The funeral will be conducted at 2 pm Tuesday (today) in the chapel of Wright Funeral Home with the Rev. Matthew Kidd officiating. Interment will follow at Southampton Memorial Park.
