Retired Union Camp executive dies at 82

SAVANNAH, Ga.-Former Union Camp Corp. executive and Franklin Mill General Superintendent Sidney Thomas Nutting Jr. died Thursday, May 6, 2010, at Memorial University Medical Center in Savannah. He was 82.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, May 11, at St. John’s Church in Savannah. Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m., Monday, May 10, Fox & Weeks Funeral Directors, Hodgson Chapel, in Savannah.

During his time in Franklin, Mr. Nutting was president of the Rotary Club and a vestry member and senior warden at Emmanuel Episcopal Church.

Survivors include his wife, Barbara Wear Nutting of Savannah; two sons, Sidney T. “Tom” Nutting, III of Dallas and William R. “Bill” Nutting of Montgomery, Ala. a sister, Bonney N. Gilbreath of Savannah; and three grandchildren.
