Broncos tennis defeats Dukes 5-4

WINDSOR –Franklin High School boys’ tennis team defeated Windsor Dukes 5-4 in a Tri-Rivers District match at Windsor High School on Tuesday.
The Broncos opened the match by taking wins with the No. 2 and No. 3 doubles teams.
As play progressed, the team score was tied at 4-all as the No. 4 single match between Donqua Thomas of the Broncos and the Dukes’ Justin Duck battled to determine which team would obtain the victory.
During an earlier match in Franklin, the two lefties split sets, ending with Duck taking the win in a super tie-break. But for this match, a determined Thomas won in two sets with a score of 6-4, 6-2 during the two-hour match to give the Broncos the team win.
The Broncos are 5-8 overall and 3-2 in the district. Their last game will be Monday, May 10, at Franklin High School against Appomattox Regional.
