COURTLAND—Traffic in the westbound lanes of Route 58 near Courtland was blocked for more than an hour Friday after a tractor-trailer lost its trailer.

According to the Virginia State Police, a call came in at about 4 a.m. informing authorities that a trailer was blocking the westbound lanes in front of Palm Tree Inn.

The spokesman said the left westbound lane was opened to traffic at about 5:45 a.m. and the scene was cleared just before 6:30.

The spokesman said he didn’t know what the truck was hauling.

He said the report filed by the responding trooper didn’t indicate any charges against the truck driver.
