CAPRON—Catherine Paynter Parham, 95, widow of Robert Lee Parham, went to be with her Lord on April 25, 2010 at Southampton Memorial Hospital. She was born In Wise, N. C., the daughter of the late Florence Wilkerson Paynter and Maynard Andrew Paynter, and was predeceased by a son, Bobby L. Parham, grandson, Anthony Scott Futrell, great-grandson, Jon Evanko, two sons-in-law, Boyd Bunting and Lonnie Garrison, and a daughter-in-law, Alyce Paige Parham. Mrs. Parham was retired from Hancock Peanut Company and was a member of Capron Baptist Church.
Left to cherish her memory are five daughters, Marjorie P. Garrison of Prince George, Phyllis Futrell (Robert) of Charlotte, NC, Dorothy Bunting, Peggy Morgan (Tom), and Carol Simms ( Edward), all of Franklin; one son, Richard Lee Parham (Carol) of Cumberland; one brother, Leonard Paynter of Wise, NC; fourteen grandchildren; twenty-four great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren; and a dear friend, Leona Harrell.
The funeral will be conducted at 2 pm Wednesday at Capron Baptist Church with the Rev. Chad Brady officiating. Interment will follow in the Capron Cemetery. Mrs. Parham’s grandsons and great-grandsons will serve as pallbearers. . The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 pm Tuesday at Wright Funeral Home and other times at the home of Carol and Edward Simms, 225 North Drive, Franklin, Va.
