DREWRYVILLE — Newsoms pitcher Megan Vincent struck out seven batters and walked two to help her 10 and Under team to win the championship in a pre-season softball tournament last weekend.

Newsoms defeated Capron 11-6 in the final game.

Capron pitcher Kellie Ferguson struck out four batters and walked three.

Newsoms defeated Sedley and Courtland to get to the final game. Capron defeated Wakeland and earned a spot in the championship game for being the host team.

Sedley defeated Ivor in the consolation game. Courtland defeated Wakefield in a second consolation game.

Newsoms coach Cynthia Cobb is assisted by Ronnie Vincent, Neil Drake and Heath Bradshaw.

Capron coaches are Jeffrey Pope and Todd Schools.
