Nature of business: Raise funds to build Habitat for Humanity homes by selling donated items at reasonable prices

Year founded: 2009

Number of employees: I’m the only paid employee; we have about 15 volunteers, and would love for groups such as the Southampton High School Key Club to volunteer one Saturday a month.

How’s business? Usually pretty steady.

One thing you wish everyone knew about your business: We give a receipt for a tax deduction on donated items and we have great bargains on furniture, appliances, books, CDs and building materials.

Something you offer that a customer won’t find elsewhere: We will pick up large items such as furniture.

Advice to young entrepreneurs: Find something you love doing and give it all you’ve got.

Your first job: Slinging burgers at Rich’s in Suffolk.

Your role model (in business or in life generally): My pastor, David Dillon

The key to a successful business is:  We have wonderful, dedicated volunteers who believe in what they are doing because they know they can change the life of a family.
