The snowy night of Feb. 6th was one to remember for Madelynn Brooke Marston and Brittany Nicole Trump.

Madelynn, the 7-year-old daughter of Stephen and Candy Marston of Windsor, won the title of 2010 Little Miss Hampton Roads, and Brittany, the 10-year-old daughter of Mark and Susan Trump of Windsor, won the title of 2010 Outstanding Preteen Miss Hampton Roads as part of the Miss Hampton Roads Scholarship Program.

The program’s purpose is awarding scholarships to deserving young women ages 7 to 24 and providing a forum for their community service. The Miss Hampton Roads Scholarship Program is an affiliate of the Miss Virginia and Miss America Scholarship Organizations.

Both girls advance to the Miss Virginia competition on June 26th in Roanoke.

The people who know Madelynn the best call her “Maddy.” She is an outgoing country girl who is a second-grade student at Windsor Elementary School. Maddy collects barbie dolls, loves to wear dresses and adores Elvis. She enjoys reading, fishing, spending time with her baby brother, Landon, and her grandparents.

Madelynn also has a passion for dance and has been dancing at Windsor School of Dance since age 3. She also attends Windsor Gymnastics. She is a member of the Relay for Life Queens Team.

Each year Maddy donates her gently used clothes and toys to the Children’s Hospital of The King’s Daughters. Maddy wishes to help raise money for the American Cancer Society and participates in her local Relay for Life. Last year she raised more than $1,000. Maddy participates because her cousin Emma Marston had cancer and she wishes to show her love and support.

Maddy also likes to promote the Virginia Adopt A Highway Program. She would like to encourage others to adopt their road as she did to help keep Hampton Roads beautiful by picking up litter.

She would like to be a veterinarian some day and help sick animals – even snakes!

Brittany is an energetic fifth-grader who is a fixture on the Honor Roll at Windsor Elementary School. She loves to try new things and conquers the challenges that come with them.

Brittany has a passion for dance and thrives on being center stage. She attends Windsor School of Dance and European Dance Studio.

Brittany loves to support and attend events for Relay for Life, Mothers Against Drunk Driving, the United Way and the Susan G. Koman for the Cure Foundation.

Both girls are eager to go to Roanoke and represent their hometown.
