Edna M. Vick
Edna Mattox Vick, a devoted Christian, departed this life on March 30, 2010.
She was born in Southampton County on October 10, 1924. She was preceaded by her parents Gladys and Authur Mattox, a still born brother and a loving Aunt Agnes Mattox.
She leaves to cherish her memory a husband of 63 years, Hinton Vick, one daughter, Jane Barnes (Dudley), two sons, H. J. Vick (Pam) Bill Vick, ten grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and a host of friends.
She was a member of Adams Grove Baptist Church, taught Sunday School for 50 years, and was a loving, devoted, faithful and caring wife, mother, grandmother and a friend to all.
A celebration of her life will be held at Echols Funeral Home on Friday at 11 a.m. The family will receive friends at Echols Funeral Home Chapel Thursday from 7-8:30. Interment will be at the family cemetery at 6189 Southampton Parkway.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Greensville Rescue Squad, Emporia Fire Department or the SPCA.
Echols Funeral Home and Cremation Services is in charge of arrangements.
