Olive T. Johnston

Burlington, NC – Mrs. Olive Thweatt Johnston, 99, widow of Leslie Carroll Johnston, Sr., and formerly of Holland, died Saturday, March 27, 2010. A native of Prince George County, Virginia, she was the daughter of the late Mondosa Whitfield Thweatt and the late Viola Nunnally Thweatt, and was preceded in death by her son, Leslie C. Johnston, Jr. and seven siblings. Mrs. Johnston was a retired music teacher. She was a member of Holland United Church of Christ in Holland, Virginia and an Associate Member of Front Street United Methodist Church in Burlington.

Mrs. Johnston is survived by her daughter-in-law, Mary Anne Johnston of Burlington; three granddaughters, Elizabeth Coulter, of Chapel Hill, Kimberly Johnston, of Cary, Lisa Johnston Smithdeal, of Raleigh and five great-grandchildren.

A graveside service will be held Tuesday, March 30, 2010 at 2:00 pm in Holland Cemetery, Holland, Virginia, with the Rev. James H. Hyatt officiating.
