Tidewater Academy romps in softball

PORTSMOUTH—Tidewater Academy whipped Alliance Christian 8-0 in girls’ softball action Thursday.
TA scored three runs in the third inning, four in the fourth and one in the sixth, banging out 13 hits along the way. The Lady Warriors committed two errors.
Alliance Christian had just four hits and committed three errors.
The winning pitcher was Taylor Warner, who struck out 12 and surrendered three hits. She improved to 4-0.
Jamie Furr took the loss.
Tidewater improved to 7-0 overall, 4-0 in the Virginia Commonwealth Conference.
Offensive standouts for Tidewater were Jordan Clarke with three hits and four RBIs; Marianna Stephenson with three hits and two runs; and Warner with a hit, two runs and an RBI.
