FRANKLIN—U.S. Rep Randy Forbes (R-Va.) will be the guest speaker for a luncheon at the Cypress Cove Country Club from noon to 1:30 p.m. on April 8.

Forbes, who represents the state’s 4th Congressional District and is the ranking member of the House Readiness Subcommittee, will address economic recovery issues. The event is being presented by Manry-Rawls Insurance and is hosted by the Franklin-Southampton Area Chamber of Commerce.

“We are delighted that he’s coming,” Teresa Beale, the chamber’s executive director, said Tuesday. “He’s going to come and talk with us and give us the latest information from Washington, and also be able to take questions and answers for our business community.”

Beale added that Forbes “has been very attentive to our community, not just now but in the past. We’re very fortunate that he’s been a good partner with us.”

Tony Clark, of Manry-Rawls Insurance, echoed that sentiment.

“We’re pleased that Congressman Forbes is willing to take the time to come back to Franklin and address the community on issues that they find most important,” Clark said Tuesday. “The topic of this discussion is going to be economic recovery, and that is an issue that is near and dear to all of our hearts. Manry-Rawls is proud to be able to play a small part in bringing him to the community.”
