He’s appalled by city utility bills

To the Editor:

With elections going on here in Franklin, I would like to make note of a serious issue of concern regarding budgeting finances to alleviate the extreme taxation issue that is occurring here.

Is it appalling enough that citizens here are paying for sewage in their utility bills, when the sewage treatment plant has paid for itself more than four times over.

A question is why charge people for the sewage when they already are being charged for the amount of water they use and consume on a daily basis? Personally, to me, this is a double charge of taxing its citizens for a service that covers both water and sewage, both of which go hand-in-hand regarding service usage.

This is what the citizens of Franklin have to look forward to with the current council members that are seated.

Why haven’t these ward delegates been supportive of their constituents by vetoing this taxation discrepancy?

There are of methods of achieving revenue besides bleeding hard-working class citizens’ pockets dry.

If this is what I have to look forward to, I may throw my hat in the election pot, because a change is definitely needed here and is long overdue.
