NEWPORT NEWS—Alvin M. ‘Buck’ Files, 64, died Feb. 19, 2010 at his home. Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Saturday at Family Light Baptist Church in Newport News. Burial was in Hampton Memorial Gardens in Newport News. Mr. Files retired from Longshoreman. Survivors include his wife, Blanche; two sons and two daughters; two brothers including Hershey Lee Files of Franklin. Mr. Files is a native of Franklin. Cooke Bros. Funeral Chapel of Newport News was in charge of arrangements.
