FRANKLIN—After rain this afternoon, around 1 to 2 inches of snow is possible tonight across Western Tidewater.

According to the National Weather Service in Wakefield, rain is expected to begin mixing with snow late this afternoon or during the early evening hours. Up to a quarter of an inch of rain is possible. A period of snow is then expected overnight.

Snow accumulations are expected mainly on grassy surfaces, according to the NWS.
