MURFREESBORO, N.C.— For the time being, an interim town administrator may be in the future for Murfreesboro.

According to Town Administrator Cathy Davison, the council has already taken the first few necessary steps in finding her replacement. In January, Davison announced she accepted the position of city manager for Steubenville, Ohio.

During her report to council at Tuesday’s regular meeting, Davison, a former resident of Franklin and manager of the Franklin Business Incubator, said an advertisement for the town administrator position has already been sent to the League of Municipalities and the County Association. The ad has already been posted on the town’s Web site as well as the Employment Security Commission. The application deadline is Feb. 19.

With that deadline looming, Davison said that the council is working with the League of Municipalities to find an interim town administrator.

Davison and her family will be leaving Murfreesboro on Feb. 26. She is scheduled to begin her new position in Ohio on March 15.
