To the Editor:

I was reading with interest about the upcoming meeting in Franklin on signs (“City wants to beautify ‘gateways,’” Sunday, Feb. 7)

I would certainly hope that the city does not put up the huge sign again coming into town on Armory Drive. This welcome sign has been knocked down twice as I can remember.

The sign creates a huge blind spot coming down the ramp from westbound U.S. 58 when looking toward downtown as you are trying cross to make a left turn.

Hopefully, the city will apply its own regulations to its own sign.
