NEWSOMS— Shirley J. Barnes, 76, of Newsoms, died Feb. 5, 2010 at East Pavilion. Funeral services will be held Thursday, Feb. 11, 2010 at 1 p.m. at Shiloh Baptist Church, Boykins. Burial will be in Shiloh Baptist Church cemetery. Barnes retired from East Pavilion. Survivors include her husband, Melvin C. Barnes; three daughters, Shirley D. Walker of Newsoms, Melissa J. Barnes of Norfolk and Vicki D. Barnes of Silver Spring, Md.; and mother, Hallie Jones. Engram Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
