Mrs. Joyce Bellamy Copeland of Gates Road, Suffolk, Virginia passed January 28, 2010 in Suffolk, Virginia. She was married to David A. Copeland who preceded her in death. After 28 years of service, Mrs. Copeland retired from the Suffolk City Public School System. She was a faithful member of Corinth Chapel United Church of Christ where she served on the Senior Choir.

She is survived by one daughter, Joycelyn Copeland Gatling and her husband, David; three sons, David J. Copeland, Joel M. Copeland and his wife, Wynndolyn, Daryl A. Copeland and his wife, Christina; four sisters, Elizabeth Henderson, Margie Monteque, Lula Mae Wiggins, Helen Lee; eight grandchildren, two great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins.

A life’s celebration will be held at 1:00 PM on Tuesday, February 2, 2010, Corinth Chapel UCC, Suffolk, Virginia with the pastor, Reverend John Myers delivering the eulogy. The committal and benediction will be in the church cemetery. On the day of service, her remains will be placed in church by 11:00 AM.
