Betty H. Bryant

Franklin – Betty Bryant, 79, departed this life to be with her Lord in heaven on Friday evening, January 15, 2010.

Formerly Betty Lois Hardy of Louisville, Kentucky, Betty graduated from Shawnee High School and Kentucky Baptist Hospital School of Nursing. Working as an R.N., she met her husband, Dr. John Bryant. They married and lived happily in Franklin for 35 years until Dr. Bryant’s passing. Betty continued to live in Franklin until 2005 when it became medically necessary for her to reside at Hughes Assisted Living in Fredericksburg.

Betty was a member of Franklin Baptist Church, Franklin Women’s Club, American Red Cross, and Hospital Auxiliary. She loved serving others and was a faithful volunteer as well as hard worker. As her friends and family know, her other love was the beach. Many family memories were made at Nags Head.

Survivors include a son & daughter-in-law, John & Helen Bryant of Courtland; daughter & son-in-law, Katherine & Craig Whitby of Fredericksburg; grandsons Michael and Jonathon Whitby, Ryan Clark and a brother, David Hardy of Wisconsin.

A funeral service will be held at 10 am Monday in the chapel of Wright Funeral Home with the Rev. Sharon James and the Rev. Rick Ritchie officiating. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 pm at the funeral home and suggests memorial donations may be made to Franklin Baptist Church in Franklin or Hollywood Church of the Brethren in Fredericksburg. www.wrightfuneralhome.org
