LDB Crew and NC Fire triumph

LDB Crew and the NC Fire posted wins in week two of the Franklin Parks and Recreation Men’s Basketball League.
In the first game, the NC Fire defeated the Suffolk Style Shop Superstars 69-57 to stay undefeated. After holding a 33-31 halftime lead, the Fire took advantage of cold shooting of the Superstars to break away in the second half. Leading the way for the Fire (2-0) were Tremain Totten and Terrance Jenkins with 14 points each, Ronte Freeman with 13 points and Thomas Perry with 12 points. Also scoring were Donnie Rogers with five points, Jerry Holley with four points and Smurf Wilder with two points.
Damon Tillery and Leroy Skinner led the Superstars (1-1) with 17 and 13 points. Others scoring were Derrick Byrant with seven points, Terrence Sharp with six points, Eric Williams and Tony Smith with four points, and Paxton Linton, Roderick Harris and Coach Mike Britt added two points.
In the night cap, LDB Crew beat the Hawks 73-55. The Crew (1-1) led at halftime 35-24 and were led by Ricky Taylor Jr. with 15 points, Ashley Lee Jr. with 12 points, and Tyrique Griffin with 11 points. Adding to win were James Holemon with nine points, Tony Macklin with seven points, Kenny Kindred with six points, C.C. Cooper with five points, Charles Turner with four points, and Ricky Taylor Sr. and Marcus Grant added two points each.
The Hawks (0-2) were led by Travis Beale with 12 points and Dionte Newsome with 10 points. Others scoring were Jerrell Britt and Rico Ivey with six points, Richard Hunter with five points, Jessie Pope with four points, Joemon Artis and Daavon Frazier with three points, and Damon Graydon and Carlos Newsome added two points each.
