To the Editor:

I want to say a huge thank you to the ladies of Blake Ford and also Santa himself.  It is a wonderful thing that Blake is doing for this community.

It is hard for some of us to take our children 30 minutes or more to let our children sit on Santa’s lap and tell him all the things they want for Christmas.

Well, thanks to Blake Ford, some of us didn’t have to. I will admit, I did take my son to see the hyped-up Santa at the mall and paid $25 for a few pictures.

Well, my son had his picture taken tonight for free. I donated a non-perishable food item that will go to help a needy family this Christmas season.

The staff at Blake Ford aren’t getting paid to greet you or take your child’s picture. They are donating their time to do this. Santa himself is donating his time.

I don’t know about some of you, but with work and home and this time of year, I have no extra time. These wonderful people are taking time from their home, family and Christmas preparations to make our lives a little better.

It tickles me to see my son’s face light up, after the initial shock of seeing the “Big Guy” up close and personal.

I have seen the true meaning of Christmas this night — giving.

You are all angels and God’s light is shining on you!
