Leroy Parker
FRANKLIN—Leroy Parker, 73, died Dec. 10, 2009, in Louise Obici Hospital after a short illness.
Mr. Parker was a native of Southampton County. He was the son of the late James Otis Parker and Emma Joyner Parker.
He had retired from Franklin Equipment Co. after 36 years of service.
He was a faithful member of the New Piney Grove Baptist Church. He was also a member of the American Legion.
Survivors include his wife Shirley Parker; son, Terence Parker, daughters, Felecia Parker Briggs and Marie Parker; sisters, Lillie Mundy (Aaron), Eunice Pope (Douglas) and Brenda Warren, as well as grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
A funeral service was held at 1 p.m. Monday at Mars Hill Baptist Church with the Rev. Britton Joyner officiating.
Burial was held in Southview Cemetery.
Elvin Vaughan Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
