SUFFOLK-A two-vehicle accident on U.S. Route 58 on Monday morning sent at least one victim to the hospital and snarled morning traffic along the highway.
The driver of a tractor-trailer that was involved in the accident was transported to Sentara Norfolk General Hospital with unspecified injuries, according to a city spokesperson.
All four lanes were closed as a result of the wreck, which occurred around 7 a.m. at the intersection of U.S. Route 58 and Buckhorn Drive, just east of Holland and about 12 miles east of Franklin. By 10 a.m., police had opened one lane in each direction.
Suffolk spokesperson Debbie George said in an e-mail at 11:15 a.m. that the lane blockages were expected to continue through about 1 p.m.
Neither driver has been identified, and charges were not available on Monday morning.
