Florence A. Savage
NEWPORT NEWS—Florence Ann Shelton Savage, 59, died Nov. 4, 2009, at the home of her daughter, Angela M. Whitten of Franklin.
Cremation services was provided by the Cremation Society of Virginia.
Born Nov. 17, 1949, she was the daughter of Shirley Phillips Insley and James R. Shelton.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Thomas Phillip Shelton.
Survivors include her daughter, Angela and daughters, Kathryn Pemberton and Margaret Hendley of Parsons, Kan.; sons, Calvin Savage and Jeffrey Hendley; a sister, Sharon D. Heerdt of Hallwood; and brothers, Robert D. Shelton of Delbarton, W.Va. and James “Andy” Shelton of Princess Ann, Md.;, also several grandchildren, nieces and nephews and friends.
The family wishes to thank the staff of Heartland Hospice for their compassionate care during her illness.
A memorial service was conducted Saturday at the House of Prayer Holiness Church in Franklin.
