Thomas R. Fennell
AULANDER, N.C.—Thomas Rudolph Fennell, 63, died Nov. 10, 2009, at Pitt County Memorial Hospital in Greenville, N.C.
A native of Hertford County, N.C., he was retired from the Newport News Shipyard in Newport News.
He was a member of St. John Second Baptist Church, Aulander, and served in the U.S. Army.
Survivors include his wife, Lillie Fennell of the home; a daughter, Melissa R. Fennell of Aulander; two sons, Reginald E. Fennell and Darrell L. Fennell, both of Aulander; three brothers, Willie V. Fennell of Ahoskie, N.C., John Russell Fennell of Aulander and James McCoy Fennell of Hampton; three sisters, Ethel Barnes of Hampton, Queen Britt of Murfreesboro, N.C. and Vera Lorraine Britt of Ahoskie; and seven grandchildren.
A funeral was to be held at 1 p.m. Saturday at St. John Second Baptist Church, Aulander, with the Rev. Roy Sharpe officiating. Burial was to take place in the church cemetery.
