Ernest M. Benthall Jr.
WOODLAND, N.C.—Ernest Melvin Benthall Jr., 60, died Oct. 31, 2009, at Halifax Regional Medical Hospital in Roanoke Rapids, N.C.
A native of Northampton County, he was a mechanic for Bryant Farms and a member of Jerusalem Baptist Church in Woodland.
Survivors include two sons, Melvin Ray Walden of Charlotte, N.C. and William Pernell Walden of Murfreesboro, N.C.; four daughters, Tomeka Bell of Woodland, Julia Walden of Enfield, N.C., Shonda Tillery of Margaretsville, N.C. and Katrina Green of Woodland; two sisters, Mildred Vinson of Woodland and Catherine Whitehead of Ahoskie, N.C.; and 17 grandchildren.
A funeral was to take place at 1 p.m. Saturday at Jerusalem Baptist Church, Woodland, with the Rev. Eddie Vinson officiating.
Burial was to take place in the church cemetery.
Wilder’s Funeral Home Inc., Rich Square, N.C., is handling the arrangements.
