Doris Van Sciver
WAVERLY—Doris Van Sciver, 82, died Oct. 29, 2009.
She was born in Mt. Holly, N.J., on July 28, 1927. She was a resident of Waverly, having relocated from Florida in 2003.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Harold and Mildred Stiles, her husband, Richard Van Sciver Sr., sister, Nancy Carson of Winterville, N.C., and her grandson, Thomas H. Van Sciver Jr., of Florida.
Survivors include two sons, Richard W. Van Sciver Jr. and wife Mary, of Sarasota, Fla. and Thomas H. Van Sciver Sr. and wife Michelle, of Waverly; brother-in-law, William D. Carson of Winterville; two nieces, Penny J. Bartruff and husband Ed of Disputanta and Pamela J. Aguilar and husband David of Winterville; granddaughters, Amber Peyton and husband Bryen of North Port, Fla. and Tracy Van Sciver of North Port; grandsons, Seth T. Van Sciver of Nokomis, Fla. and Richard W. Van Sciver III of New Jersey; as well as a host of other grandchildren; great-grandchildren; nephews, other relatives and friends, including long-time friend since childhood, Gloria Rapagna of Rancocas, N.J.
Funeral services were to be held Saturday at 3 p.m. at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses in Waverly, located at 442 Coppahaunk Ave., Waverly.
