Harvest Fest a big success

Fall was in the air in Sedley on Oct. 24, during the Harvest Fest — a fundraiser for the Sedley Recreation Association. It was a fun time for the children — painting pumpkins, face painting, train rides and a hayride — as parents browsed vendor tables with honey, soap, blankets, jewelry, makeup, fall arrangements, candles, shepherd hooks, metal and wood tables, caramel apples, etc.

Southampton County Sheriff’s Office had childrens ID kits for parents, Paul D. Camp Community College had student nurses from the RN program giving out health facts and taking blood pressures.

The Sedley Fire Department served lunch and dinner with eat-in or take-out barbecue plates or by the pound. The night ended with a live auction with Ben Blythe as our auctioneer.

It was a great day for all, but would not have been possible without the work and donations from many. I won’t try to list, but if you had a part in any way we thank you. God bless each of you.
