To the Editor:

Delegate Bill Barlow is not a flamboyant politician, but a very sincere person who is interested in what we have to say and how we feel about issues that affect our district.

He works quietly and efficiently to get the job done. He does not spend his time playing with a Blackberry at meetings that are important to his constituents and acting like he has better things to do than listen to what the public has to say.

I definitely support Delegate Barlow because I know he cares about our district and he doesn’t rely on false claims of what he has done for us.

I am a former teacher, now retired from Isle of Wight County, and I would like to tell you of my experience with Delegate Bill Barlow in Richmond.

I had the privilege of going to the Capitol on behalf of teachers and education. I gave Delegate Barlow no notice of my arrival. I went by his office and asked his secretary to tell him that I was from his district and just wanted to say hi.

I had no idea that I would be able to talk with him. The secretary delivered the message and Delegate Barlow came out immediately and invited me and the gentleman who was with me from another district to come in to his office.

He was very interested in why we were there and answered all of our questions very graciously. He also gave us his support for our cause.

Then Delegate Barlow went a step further and introduced us to other delegates, a Republican and a Democrat, who could help us with support for education.

Delegate Barlow’s roots may run deep in this county, but I am grateful for that, because he loves this area, grew up here and wants only to serve the people of this county and district.
