HOPEWELL—Laura Taylor Chambliss, 69, died Oct. 12, 2009, at John Randolph Medical Center, Hopewell.
She retired from Southside Regional Medical Center, where she worked for many years.
She was a member of Hunting Quarters Baptist Church, Stony Creek, but attended Greater Hickory Hill Baptist Church, Yale.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Judge and Bessie Taylor; her first husband, Prince Robinson; her brother, Judge Taylor Jr., and her daughter, Sharon Wright.
Survivors include her son, Dale “Cowboy” Robinson of Petersburg; two sisters, Geraldine Jackson of Waverly and Doris Hill of Chesterfield; her grandchildren, Samantha Wright of Philadelphia, Pa., Tiffany Smith of Petersburg; her great-grandchildren, Tianna, Josiah, Tahmondre, Wesley and Treyvon; a host of nieces; nephews; other relatives; and friends, among the friends, Cynthia “Sanka” Jones, and a devoted friend, William “Boo” King.
A memorial service will be held 2 p.m. Saturday at the Chapel of William N. Bland and Son Funeral Home, Petersburg, with the Rev. Joe Caple, pastor of Greater Hickory Hill Baptist Church, Yale, officiating.
The family will assemble at the funeral home at 1:30 p.m. the day of the service.
