Daniel R. Hamlin
NEWPORT NEWS—Deacon Emeritus Daniel R. Hamlin died Oct. 4.
He was born to the late Joseph and Sarah Hamlin on Aug. 28, 1923, in Boykins.
Mr. Hamlin served his country for 50 years as a member of the United States Army and NASA.
He was a member of First Baptist Church Denbigh and was chairman of the deacon board for more than 15 years.
Survivors include his four sons, Darold, Keith, Brain and Danny plus four grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Saturday at First Baptist Church, Denbigh, and the burial at Hampton Memorial Gardens.
