ZUNI—Richard Steven “Ricky” Hoag, 21, died Sept. 22, 2009.
He was born in Hampton, and formerly of Suffolk, and was predeceased by his father, Richard Gene Hoag, Jr. Ricky was known to his friends as “Ricky Bobby.”
Survivors include his parents, Kelly Joyner Cofield and Jason E. Cofield; his sister, Amanda L Hoag, all of Zuni; his grandparents, Billy and Suzanne Joyner of Carrollton and James and Lynn Cofield of Zuni; paternal grandfather, Richard Gene Hoag Sr. of New York; two uncles, William T. Joyner of Niceville, Fla. and Robert B. Joyner of Suffolk; four aunts, Renee Devitt of Gloucester, Melissa Joyner of Niceville, Tammy H. Pawlowski of Connecticut and Valerie Duell of New York; great-aunt, Gwen Rhodes of Walters; three cousins, Jessica and Brittany Devitt, both of Gloucester, and Crystal J. Lewis of Florida; and his girlfriend, Elizabeth “Liz” Stiles of Windsor.
A graveside service will be conducted at 11 a.m. today at Woodland United Methodist Church Cemetery, Windsor, with the Rev. Robert F. Cofield Jr. officiating.
The family will receive friends at the residence at 22489 Barrett Town Road, Zuni.
Memorials may be made in Ricky’s name to The Juvenile Diabetes Foundation, 1660 Duke St., Alexandria, Va. 22314.
