Willie E. Garris Jr.
DURHAM, N.C.—Willie Earnest Garris Jr., 86, formerly of Rich Square, N.C., died Sept. 14, 2009, at the Veterans Administration Hospital.
A native of Northampton County, he served in the U.S. Navy and retired as a self-employed plaster.
Mr. Garris was a member of Willow Oak AME Church, Rich Square, N.C.
Survivors include his wife, Clementine N. Garris of Durham; daughters, Elaine Henry and Patsy Ray, both of Durham; sons, Eugene Garris of Murfreesboro, N.C. and Randy Garris of Rich Square; sisters, Maude Derr of Waterford, Conn., Cleo Langford of Potecasi and Evelyn Clark of Rich Square; a brother, Patrick Garris of Rich Square; and 11 grandchildren.
Funeral services were to be held at 1 p.m. Saturday at Willow Oak AME Church with the Rev. James Baker officiating. Burial was to be in the church cemetery.
