Randolph Bottoms
BOYKINS—Randolph “Rat” Boykins, 56, died Sept. 15, 2009.
Mr. Bottoms was a native of Southampton County and was one of 12 children born to the late Henry Sr. and Fortune Marie Bottoms.
He served in the U.S. Armed Forces. Later, he worked for the Town of Boykins and Hancock Peanut Co.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Lillian D. Bottoms, son, Randy Bottoms, daughter, Larisa Bottoms and grandson, Messiah L. Mason, who was the love of his life.
Survivors include six sisters, Mildred Robinson of Garysburg, N.C., Valerie Bottoms of Cheektowaga, N.Y., Joyce Bottoms, Katherine Stephens of Franklin and Lois Owens and Barbara Brady, both of Portsmouth; four brothers, Jake Bottoms of Portsmouth, Chester Bottoms of Franklin, Henry Bottoms Jr. and Joseph Bottoms of Buffalo, N.Y.; an aunt, Mary Goldburg and uncle, Joe Amos Malone of Branchville; mother-in-law, Irene Beacham; sister-in-law, Leila Beacham; brothers-in-law, Raymond, John and Royal Beacham; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Funeral services will be held at Vaughan Funeral Home, Franklin, at 1 p.m. Sunday.
Burial will follow in Southview Cemetery, Franklin.
