William F. Norfleet
SUFFOLK—William Franklin Norfleet, 86, died Sept. 14, 2009.
He was born in Nansemond County the son of the late Abram E. Norfleet Sr. and Edla Archer Norfleet. 
He was predeceased by his first wife, Frances Juanita Warren Norfleet and brother, Robert A. Norfleet. 
Mr. Norfleet was a U.S. Army veteran having served during WWII and survived the Malmedy Massacre.  William retired as a machinist from Lipton Tea Company where he was also a member of the Ambassador Club and loved every minute of it. 
He later went on to work over 20 years as a dedicated and loyal funeral assistant for Hill Funeral Home and Parr Funeral Home. 
He was a life member of Western Branch Baptist Church and the Men’s Bible Class and served as a deacon. 
He attended Wilroy Baptist Church.  He was also a life and charter member of Kings Fork Ruritan Club.
Survivors include his beloved wife of six years, Zada C. Norfleet; daughters, Laurie Wise and husband Garland “Bubba” of Suffolk, Vickie Gay Sadler of Virginia Beach, VA; step daughters, Loretta Ellis and husband William, Lorene Harrell and husband Jimmie; step son, Earl Grove all of Suffolk; grandchildren and spouses, William Wise (Stacey), Joseph Wise (Dorothy), Benjamin Wise (Liezel), Keith Chappell, Kevin Chappell, and Kayla Sadler, Teresa Nurney (Art), Marie Goodrich ( Bobby), Kelly Bailey (Randy), Jennifer Cochran (Chad), Justin Ellis, Ronnie Harrell (Amber), Kara Maskelony (John); 13 great grandchildren; sisters, Doris N. Bailey of Franklin, Marianna Whitley and husband Bobby of Smithfield, Margaret N. Saunders of Suffolk; brother, Abe Norfleet Jr. and wife Betty of Stoney Creek.
A funeral service will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. at Parr Funeral Home & Crematory, Suffolk, with Tim Rawls officiating. 
Burial with military honors will follow at Western Branch Baptist Church Cemetery. 
Friends may join the family today from 7 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home and other times at the residence.
