FRANKLIN—Tierra Nicole White died Sept. 9, 2009, while a patient in Duke University Hospital, Durham, N.C.
The Franklin native was born Nov. 20, 1992, to Carla White and Joseph Bullock.
She acquired her early education at Rock Church Christian School and most recently, she attended Windsor High School where she accelerated to the 11th grade.
She was a member of the Art Club, Tri-Hi-Y and the Color Guard. When Tierra attended Windsor Middle School, she was a member of the band and enjoyed playing the flute.
She was a member of Piney Grove Baptist Church where she served on the youth usher board, a member of the youth choir, a nursery volunteer; she was also the arts and crafts teacher for vacation bible school summer camp and a praise dancer.
Tierra was an active participant in community activities, namely Youth in Action, an affiliate of The Isle of Wight Recreational Department.
Survivors include her mother, Carla V. White, father, Joseph Bullock; two sisters, Cierra White and Pam Cofield; one brother, Joseph Womack (Tamilka); her maternal grandparents, Robert and Thelma White; one uncle, two great-aunts; two great-great aunts, nieces, one nephew; adopted grandmother, Willie Mae Lawrence; her godmother, the Rev. Delores A. Manley, her adopted family Danielle Dawson and family; and many cousins.
A celebration of life will be held at 1 p.m. today at Piney Grove Baptist Church, Franklin, with the Rev. William A. Freeman Sr. delivering the message; the Rev. Alfred Brown is pastor.
On the day of service, her remains will be placed in church for viewing by noon.
The committal and benediction will be in Southview Cemetery.
