Lewis W. Wheeler
PRINCE GEORGE COUNTY—Lewis Wayne Wheeler, 64, was born Sept. 12, 1945, in Petersburg, and died Sept. 12, 2009, at Chippenham Medical Center.
Mr. Wheeler was preceded in death by his parents, Perry Alston and Mary Traylor Wheeler; and his brothers, William Alston and Rolliner Wesley “Ronnie” Wheeler.
Survivors include his loving wife of 45 years, Linda Lamberson Wheeler; his children, Rebecca Wheeler Haydt and husband Bryant, Trudy Wheeler Hayes and husband Brian, Perry Wayne Wheeler and wife Serena; and the light of his life, his grandchildren Hunter, Caitlin and Logan Haydt, Austin and Bryson Hayes, Troy Cimburke and Jeremy Perkinson; many loyal friends, including Royce Branch and Frank Solesbee.
He was retired from the Park 500 Division of Phillip Morris after 29 years of dedicated service.
He was a long time member of 7 Pines Hunt Club in Southampton County where he also had many cherished friends and memories.
The family will receive friends at the Hopewell Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home & Cremation Service on Sept. 14, 2009 from 6 to 8 p.m.
A funeral service was held in the funeral home chapel Tuesday with the Rev. Ivan Perkinson Jr. officiating.
