CONWAY, N.C.—Herbert William Cook, 67, died Sept. 13, 2009, at Roanoke-Chowan Hospital, Ahoskie, N.C.
A native of Southampton County, he was a building contractor and carpenter.
Survivors include his wife, Peggy Cornett Cook; children, Lisa Diane Cook Baines of Suffolk, Sam William Cook Jr. and Timmy Earl Cook, both of Ivor, Betty Sue Cook of Garysburg, N.C. and Joanie Cook Draper of Seaboard, N.C.; sisters, Martha Ann Ericcson and Mandy Likens, both of Smithfield; brothers, Jimmy Cook of Wakefield and Johnny Cook of Windsor; and eight grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at 6 p.m. today at Faison’s Assembly of God Church, Conway, with the Rev. R.O. Denton officiating. The family will receive friends at the church following the service.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the NCWRC Wildlife Endowment Fund, 1710 Mail Service Center, Raleigh, N.C. 27699-1710 or to the charity of one’s choice.
