Hattie M. Kindred
FRANKLIN—Hattie Mae Pope Kindred died Sept. 7, 2009, while a patient in Southampton Memorial Hospital.
She was born Oct. 12, 1923, to George Pope and Annie Bell Pope Graham.
Mrs. Kindred was a member of Piney Grove Baptist Church where she served on the Missionary Society.
She also attended the Martin Luther King Senior Citizens.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and two sisters, Carrie Lee Pope and Nettie J. Barr.
Survivors include one sister, Elizabeth Wright of Brooklyn, N.Y.; her nieces and nephews, Anthony Barr (Evelyn), Ida Outlaw (Jerry), Cynthia Fogan, Regina Young, Robert Fogan, Larry Fogan and Raymond Fogan, great-nieces and nephews, cousins and other relatives. Also, she will be fondly remembered by her devoted friends, Isabella Johnson and Barbara J, Wilson.
A homegoing celebration will be held at noon Monday at Piney Grove Baptist Church, Franklin, where the Rev. Alfred Brown is pastor; the Rev. Henry Blunt will deliver the message.
Burial will follow in Southview Cemetery.
Wm. M. Johnson & Sons Funeral Home, Franklin, is handling arrangements.
