Geoffrey H. Silver
HENRICO COUNTY—Geoffrey Harris Silver, 28, suddenly answered the call to be with the Lord on Sept. 4, 2009.
A native of Newport News, and a resident of Richmond, he was born Aug. 21, 1981, to Francine Harris Silver and Floyd Silver.
At an early age, he joined First Baptist Church Morrison in which he participated in many of the youth activities.
Geoffrey, known by many as Geoff, was a 1999 graduate of Menchville High School and a 2005 graduate of Old Dominion University.
At the time of his death, he was employed as a business systems analyst with SunTrust Bank, Richmond.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Henry Harris; and paternal grandparents, Eli and Bertha Silver.
Survivors include his mother, Francine Silver of Newport News; his father, Floyd Silver of Newport News; his brother, Gerard Silver of Richmond; his half brother, Bryan Silver (Cheryl) of Seattle, Wash.; and maternal grandmother, Barbara Harris of Courtland; and an abundance of family and friends.
A celebration of life service will be held at 11 a.m. today at First Baptist Church, Newport News, by the Rev. Marcellus Harris.
Interment will follow in Bryant Baptist Cemetery, Courtland.
Cooke Bros. Funeral Chapel, Newport News, is in charge of arrangements.
