BOYKINS—The Boykins Lions Club sold nearly 500 tickets, and fed nearly 500 people, at its 38th Annual Steak Feast at Draper’s Pond on Wednesday.

Attendees enjoyed steak from Jennette Bros. of Elizabeth City, N.C., and a bevy of sides that included French fries, cole slaw and iced tea. This year’s event also featured music from Coast 2 Coast Entertainment, and a 50-50 raffle.

The Lions Club uses all of the proceeds from the event to help the community. The club provides eyeglasses and hearing aids, and vision and hearing screening at public schools, makes contributions to local food banks, donates to the Boys Scouts and Girl Scouts, and helps needy families.

The Lions Club also sold more than $200 worth of brooms.
