Oneil J. Wynne
NORFOLK—Oneil Joseph Wynne, 87, died Sept. 2, 2009.
A native of Norfolk, he was born on Sept. 22, 1921 to the late William and Linda Wynne.
Mr. Wynne served his country in the U S Army during World War II and received a medal for his bravery. He was a retired Machinist from Norfolk Naval Shipyard. Bowling was his passion and his name is in the Duckpin Bowling Hall of Fame.
He was predeceased by his loving wife of 47 years, Wacetia Wynne; brother William T. Wynne; and sister Ida W. Davis.
Survivors include his daughter Wacetia M. Stainback and husband John of Sedley; brother Robert Wynne and wife Marion of Norfolk; two grandchildren, Tiffany Berry and husband Craig, and Michelle Stainback; and one great-grandson, Travis Berry.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday at Sedley Baptist Church, conducted by the Rev. Jim Foreman.
