CAPE CHARLES-For Franklin High School’s football team, the 2009 season opened just like 2008. The Broncos downed Northampton High School 50-0 in a non-district game Thursday night.

Franklin head coach Darren Parker said he was happy with Broncos’ opening effort.

“We executed in all three phases of the game, offense, defense, and special teams,” he said. “As a team, we did a great job.”

The Broncos host rival Southampton next Friday at 7 p.m.
